RR gets Purple Heart City signs

In July, the city governing body passed a resolution giving Rio Rancho the status to show support for veterans who have earned a Purple Heart for being wounded in action. Nine signs have been installed at various access points to the city.

 

City Councilor Shelby Smith and members of the local Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 176 spearheaded the effort to get the designation.
