A Promise to Put New Mexicans First – Keeping your own hard-earned money is not a “Handout”
One of the cornerstones of my campaign is simple: eliminate New Mexico’s personal state income tax.
With the unexpected $850 million energy windfall generated by our oil and gas industry, we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to invest in the people who made this success possible—the hardworking taxpayers of New Mexico.
Instead of growing government, let’s grow opportunity.
Eliminating the personal state income tax would allow the average New Mexico taxpayer to keep an estimated $2,100 more each year—money that can help pay the mortgage, buy groceries, cover childcare, save for college, invest in a small business, or build generational wealth.
I believe the best investment we can make is in the people it belongs to.
Together, we can create a stronger economy, attract new businesses and high-paying jobs, and ensure our children have a reason to build their future right here in New Mexico.
It’s time to let New Mexicans keep more of what they earn.
