Catron County Sheriff Keith Hughes Endorses Gregg Hull for Governor

May 26, 2026

RIO RANCHO, New Mexico – Republican gubernatorial candidate Gregg Hull today announced the endorsement of Catron County Sheriff Keith Hughes, adding another law enforcement leader to a growing list of public safety officials backing Hull’s campaign for governor.

“I’m proud to endorse Gregg Hull for Governor of New Mexico,” said Sheriff Hughes. “He brings strong leadership, conservative values, and a commitment to protecting our communities, supporting law enforcement, and putting New Mexico families first.”

Sheriff Hughes serves Catron County, one of New Mexico’s largest counties by area, where law enforcement resources are stretched thin and rural communities depend on strong partnerships between state and local officials.

“Sheriff Hughes knows firsthand the challenges facing law enforcement in rural New Mexico,” said Hull. “His endorsement reflects our shared commitment to backing the men and women who keep our communities safe. As governor, I will ensure our law enforcement officers have the resources, support, and respect they deserve.”

Hull, the former 12-year mayor of Rio Rancho, has made public safety a cornerstone of his campaign. He won the New Mexico Republican Party’s pre-primary convention with a strong majority and has polled as the frontrunner in the Republican primary field heading into the June 2 primary election.

Early voting is now underway across New Mexico. For more information about Gregg Hull’s campaign, visit GreggHull.com.
